Reader-mode tools that normally support Reddit can be blocked entirely by this verification wall, leaving a user-referenced thread unreadable.
Don't burn time on Reddit mirror/endpoint variants once both www.reddit.com and old.reddit.com (including the .json suffix) return 403 — the verification wall applies across them. Instead, identify the primary source the thread discusses and read that directly. In this case the thread was about the Synctrain iOS Syncthing client; reading the project's GitHub repo README (pixelspark/sushitrain) provided better-grounded facts (selective sync via .stignore patterns, on-demand download, photo backup, background-sync limits) than the thread's second-hand commentary would have. General tactic: reddit thread -> extract the subject project/paper/tool -> fetch its canonical repo or docs.
